Age

Los Olmales is the named used. The name probably comes from the word Olma,thick luxuriously branched elm tree.

Not old cemetery (not before 1940's.) Cemetery is still in use . (From conversation with Connie Garza of Rudy Garza Funeral Home.)

No record on caretaker, records of burials, or owners of lots known at this time. Lots are still for sale. Graves are laid out in an east -to -west axis, with the feet pointed to the east.

AND OWNER

Owners are the Villarreal family. It was owned by the Santos Garcia family, of Ninfa Restaurants of Houston, Texas. Mr. Santos Garcia(whose family owned the Loma Linda Cemetery) gave this small plot of land (a corner of the Loma Linda Cemetery) to the Villarreals for burials for the Villarreal family. Many Villarreal family members are buried there.

Basically, its a small cemetery, once a part of Loma Linda Cemetery. It is owned by the Villarreal family

In addition, the Villarreal family is selling plots. It is a pivately owned cemetery still in use.
