Where Found

The great kiskadee, along with some other Valley specialties, can be found easily in such refuges as the Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge, Santa Margarita Ranch, Falcon Dam, Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge, and Bentsen-Rio Grande State Park. This abundant tropical species inhabits the wet woodlands and thickets of deep South Texas. It usually is found near water. This noisy, aggressive flycatcher remains in Texas throughout the year.
