The cemetery is privately owned by the Robert Ballenger family who own much of the land in that area. The cemetery was originally for the ranch/farm workers and their families. No Ballenger family members are buried there. The descendants of the family seem to be the ones to care for the cemetery. No caretaker is known, and no burial records exist as far as is known. No lots are for sale, and no burials have taken place since 1955. Mrs. Ballenger also stated that no permissiion was needed to enter the cemetery to clean it. It is believed that the ones that care for the cemetery are the Tovar family but that most of the younger generations have moved out of the area and may live in Sebastian, Texas. Guadalupe Tovar may have been the family caretaker. The graves are laid out in a West to East axis with the heads to the west and the feet to the east, except for one grave, that of IRINEO PUENTE. Mr. Puente's grave is also the only one defined by a fence.
