Field Work

The students were divided into three groups. Each group was assigned a site for its study. The teacher stressed safety measures, instructed procedures to follow, and emphasized the importance of careful observations.

Site One:

The Site One team is planning and discussing their strategies for their field work. Their successfully employed skills will develop their scientific knowledge about the water quality of our city resaca. Ultimately these students will become informed citizens prepared to deal responsibly with environmental issues.

Site Two:

The Site Two team is discussing, organizing and recording all their observations and procedures. These students will compile their information and utilize it to present their findings.

Site Three:

The Site Three team are carefully making their way down the resaca bank to obtain the water samples. Through a logical sequence of concrete, first hand experiences, these studies will acquire data valuable in this study.

All the students had a great time planning out their group activity. They especially enjoyed getting near the water to obtain the water samples. The groups had good discussions regarding their observations, organizing and recording their data. The students did an outstanding performance in the first phase of this project.
