Conclusion
![]() It appears that water pollution has become one of the most serious type of environment abuse. Scientists are capable of solving specific pollution problems but it is inconceivable to believe that they can single-handedly halt the damaging course of pollution. Studies conducted by those middle-school students encouraged them to tackle a real-life problem for which actual data would be used. The results of this study yielded the presence of 4 pollutants in our city resacas. Ammonia nitrogen and phosphorous were present in all of the 3 sites. Chromium was present in Site 1 but not present in Sites 2 & 3. The pH level of Site #1 was 9, producing a blue-greenish color, while the pH level of sites 2 and 3 was 8, producing a green color. These findings warrant a concern about the quality of the water in our city resacas. Of all living things on this planet, only man can utilize his capabilities to alter the damaging effects of water pollution for all generations to come. |
