The Guard At San Marcos Bridge

As told to: Tina Rodriguez

By: Dalia Rodriguez

When my mom was young she used to go on vacation to San Marcos, Texas. One day my mom and her sister were walking by the San Marcos Bridge by old Highway 77 road. They saw a man dressed in a Confederate Army suit slouching on his rifle. My mom saw this when she was only five years old. She thought he was alive but he was dead! Many people say you can still see the guard at the San Marcos Bridge. This occurred about thirty years ago from today. They say you can still see him standing by his rifle down old 77.
